Capturing a subject has always been an organic process for me. I'm not a huge fan of the '3...2...1.' approach. In portrait photography I like to encourage my subjects to pretend I'm not there and just do their thing. I usually make sure we are in their environment or preferred setting too, which only adds to the outcome.
